Iain was born in September 1972 and grew up in Hamilton in central Scotland. He went to Hutchesons' Grammar School in Glasgow before proceeding to Exeter University where he graduated with an honours degree in politics.
Raised to the peerage as Baron Black of Brentwood, of Brentwood in the County of Essex in 2010 , Guy Black was a Councillor on Brentwood District Council 1988-92. He has political interests in Media and creative industries, health, education, energy and animal welfare. He has a special interest in Italy.
Stuart was first elected Member of Parliament for Pudsey, Horsforth and Aireborough in 2010 and has served as Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Rt Hon Francis Maude MP, Minister for the Cabinet Office and PPS to Secretary of State for Transport, Patrick McLoughlin.
