John Cope

Originally from the East Midlands, John has spent his career campaigning on education, social mobility, and LGBT+ rights, as well as advising three education ministers, including Nicky Morgan during her time as Secretary of State and Minister for Equalities. Currently, John works for a leading business association on their education and skills policy work, having previously been a founder and director at the Education Policy Institute. Outside of work, he serves on the Tory Reform Group policy board, volunteers as a Governor of a special educational needs school, and has been appointed as the National LGBT+ Champion for the Conservative Policy Forum.

During one of the Conservative's great achievements, equal marriage, John became directly involved in LGBT+ policy and rights. At the core of his beliefs is a commitment to freedom and people being able to succeed in life however they see best, regardless of background or identity. It's this belief that makes John a Conservative.
