Vice Chair for Outreach
David is a rare beast: a Conservative academic from Liverpool. He has been involved in the Conservative Party since the 2010 general election.
David is a senior lecturer at the University of Liverpool. His PhD was on the causes of the Conservative Party’s decline in Liverpool, and he has published a book on this topic: Whatever happened to Tory Liverpool? Success, decline and irrelevance since 1945 (which can be read for free here).
In his spare time, David is a keen triathlete - he very rarely misses the Saturday morning parkrun and has completed a number of Ironmans. He runs a drama group in south Liverpool and has taken three adult pantomimes to the Edinburgh Fringe, to sell out audiences.
