The LGBT+ Conservatives are delighted to announce the appointment of Sarah Free as our new Donors and Peers Liaison.
Sarah, a long-standing Ally of the LGBT+ community, brings with her a wealth of professional and voluntary experience spanning over 25 years. She has run Parliamentary offices, launched two small businesses, and since 2013 has dedicated her career to supporting and growing charities across England and Wales.
Her outstanding record in fundraising and community advocacy was recognised in 2020, when she was awarded the Charity Champion Award at the Hertfordshire Community Awards. Sarah continues to volunteer her energy and expertise to a wide range of charitable causes, helping organisations thrive and expand their reach.
In her new role, Sarah will work closely with our Vice-Chair for the Candidates’ Fund Nathan Morley, primarily supporting our network of donors. She will also play a vital part in strengthening our links in the House of Lords, drawing on the excellent relationships she has developed throughout her career in politics and community service.
Responding to her announcement, Sarah Free said: “As a longstanding ally, I fell in love with the energy and enthusiasm that LGBT+ Conservatives brought to the streets of Stevenage during the General Election campaign. Fun and friendly, their passion for championing both the community and Conservative values is infectious, and at the Conservative Party Conference I soon got to know them as the Party Party!
In over 40 years of involvement with the Party, I have never come across a more inclusive organisation, with a soul and a clear purpose, and I am delighted to join them in their mission to keep LGBT+ Conservatives at the heart of the modern Conservative family, with a voice for all".
Jamie Mulhall, Deputy Chair of LGBT+ Conservatives, said: "We are thrilled to welcome Sarah to the team. Her passion for fundraising, her track record of achievement, and her deep commitment to making a difference will be an incredible asset. With her experience and connections, she will help us ensure LGBT+ Conservatives continue to grow, to engage more supporters, and to strengthen our voice within the Conservative Party family.”
Nathan Morley, Vice-Chair for the Candidates’ Fund, said: “I am hugely looking forward to working with Sarah in her new role as we as an organisation continue to grow our donors network. These efforts are vital as we look to support our Future Patrons and who go on to become the Conservative MPs of the future. The LGBT+ Conservatives will be hugely enhanced by Sarah’s passion and commitment. ”
