Press Release: Louis North joins council as Campaigning Lead

We are delighted to announce that Louis North will be joining the LGBT+ Conservatives’ council. He will assume the new role of Campaigning Lead.

Louis’ role will be key ahead of next year’s London council elections, Senedd elections and Holyrood elections. He will act as the main point of contact for all campaign and action day organisation, ensuring our members can participate in elections and, in return, gain excellent campaigning experiences.

Ahead of this announcement, LGBT+ Conservatives Campaigning Lead Louis North said: “I'm thrilled to be joining the General Council of the LGBT+ Conservatives during this pivotal year as we celebrate our 50th anniversary!

I'm especially excited to be stepping into the campaigns role. In recent years, we've played a key part in elections nationwide, and I'm confident we'll continue this momentum in the years ahead. With regular by-elections and major elections next May across Scotland, Wales, London, and many parts of England, it's going to be a busy year. But I know we're ready to rise to the occasion!”

“Finally, I want to extend a huge thank you to everyone in the LGBT+ Conservatives for being so welcoming. Getting involved in a political organization can feel really daunting, but with this group, I've consistently felt included, heard, and valued. I’ve had the opportunity to meet the most amazing people from across the country and I look forward to working with them more going forward”.

In a statement sent to members today, the Chairman of the LGBT+ Conservatives Luke Robert Black welcomed this new appointment: “I am delighted to finally announce that Louis will join the LGBT+ Conservatives in this vital role. Louis has spent much of the last year joining us in various campaigns around the country. Our members are active, engaged and want to be as helpful as they can – Louis will help them to achieve this by leveraging their campaigning talents in every stretch of the United Kingdom. We have boasted many successful campaigns to date, including Pimlico, the West End, Lichfield and Newark, just to name a few, and will hope to support in many future Conservative gains across the UK. Louis will be excellent and will hit the ground running too – a great appointment”.

Responding to the announcement, the Deputy Chairman of the LGBT+ Conservatives Jamie Mulhall said: “Louis brings fresh energy, sharp political instincts, and a passion for championing both our community and Conservative values. We’re excited to have him on board as we gear up for a big year ahead here’s to impactful campaigns and making our voices heard louder than ever!”.
